On Friday, the Congress party paid tribute to Sardar Patel on his birth anniversary and remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. Sonia Gandhi, the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party, along with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi, visited the memorial of Indira Gandhi to offer floral tributes. Kharge remarked that Patel resides in the hearts of many and his ideals are an integral part of the Congress ideology.

Indira Gandhi's 41st Death Anniversary Remembered

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also paid tribute to Indira Gandhi on the 41st anniversary of her assassination, highlighting her extraordinary patience, courage, and determination. He recalled her visit to the flood-affected areas of Bihar on August 13, 1977, which played a significant role in her political resurgence.

Indira Gandhi, born on November 19, 1917, in Prayagraj, served as Prime Minister from January 1966 to March 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination on October 31, 1984, by her own bodyguards. Her contributions to India’s political landscape remain significant.
